A scientist discovers a new form of weapon that has strong destructive power. Typically, an organization set out to retrieve the scientists work and hire a hit man to do this. The rest of the film centers on the hit man being chased by the government and after he doesn’t return the information to the organization they end up sending other hit men. It focuses on him escaping the authorities and trying to find out what the weapon is. In the end he finds out what the weapon is and decides that no one should have that kind of power and so destroys all the scientists work and ends the film escaping.
The basic plot of the first scene is a scientist is woken up by his alarm clock; we have quick cuts to show the passing of time as he gets ready in the morning and then down at the breakfast table we see him realize something. There are papers spread around the table and he suddenly finds something amazing. He rushes his breakfast and runs outside to his car which is parked on the roadside and gets shot in the back. Then he collapses to the floor still clutching the papers and the hitman in a suit steals the papers in a stylish fashion, although we never see who he is.
The title sequence is going to be quite stylish. For example, the kind of titles used in James Bond films. We are thinking of using “crime scene” style pictures of the dead body during the title sequence. The editing is going to focus most on continuity but will also use a high angle shot above the scientist and shot from a low angle on the dead body of the scientist. The scientist will be highlighted in his role wearing a lab coat as he exits his house. We’re going to use naturalistic mise en scene such as dining room tables and beds. To show the scientist has been shot, we are going to use fake blood effects and sound effects of the gun.
We have looked at a range of films to use as out influences. Films such as: Vantage Point, Casino Royale, I Robot and Jumper. All these films have similar plots and therefore are good to use for ideas.
